Thank you for helping St Mark's Youth Outreach smash our fundraising goal!
WHAT A DAY! The Youth Outreach of St Mark's brought together more than 42 youth and adults who walked in today’s ALS Walk at Cedar Crest College in Allentown. Named in honor of church member, Lenny Rafalko, Team Lenny’s Light, raised more than $7,500 through fund raisers, congregational contributions, online donations, and the generosity of family and friends. THANK YOU for your support and encouragement.
This venture has been a blessing to our youth, our members, Lenny and his family and the community. We are proud of our youth and their amazing love of God and neighbor. Team Lenny’s Light truly shines brightly!
Youth Outreach is a ministry of the church which connects middle school and senior high school students in service, learning, and fun. The group has three adult advisors, Connie Taglieber, Heather Schmitt and Paul Bartlett, but makes its own decisions on projects to support, activities and projects to do, and times to meet.
Youth fundraisers for this project included a car wash, bake sale, refreshment stand at East Greenville's Community Day, and the sale of "Team Lenny's Light" t-shirts which were designed by the youth.
The amount raised came from group fundraisers by the youth, donations by St Mark's members, and direct online contributions by members and friends of the walkers. The walkers included the youth outreach group, their advisors, church Pastor Russell Crouthamel, council president Pete Reigner, church members, Lenny Rafalko, his wife Marda, daughter Jess, and many friends and neighbors.
Held at Cedar Crest College the ALS Walk provide a rallying point for family and friends of those who suffer from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
